Can you suggest a good book?

As a librarian I get asked the same question over and over. Can you suggest a good book for me to read?  The problem is there is no easy answer. The books I like reading (more on that in another post) most likely won't appeal to everyone. I seriously doubt a romance fan is going to enjoy the latest installment in Carrie Ryan's series about the zombie apocalypse eventhough there was a little love story mixed in amongst hordes of walking, flesh eating undead.  So how do I suggest a book for readers of all different type of genres?  I use the library resources of course and now I am going to share them with all of you so you will never be without a good book.
