Starlight Pops: Music +Picnic +Food +Art Show = FUN
Starlight Pops will be Hoppin' this Saturday

Well, it's that time again. First Federal's Starlight Pops is back with Broadway Music, an art show and sale, food trucks and other food vendors. It will be fun for all so bring your picnics, beach chairs and blankets and prepare to have good family fun under the stars.
The Charleston Artist Guild will have numerous tents set up at the Groves with wonderful art on dusplay. You can be assured that yours truly will have his photographs displayed and for sale (is that blatent self-promotion or what?). This will be my first Starlight Pops and I am looking forward to it.
A portion of the proceeds from tickets sales will benefit the arts in the Charleston area. First Federal has got it right. They understand what it means to be supportive of local arts and have shown that they want to do what they can to help give back to the community. For their efforts, I applaud them.

Last October, First Federal held their annual People's Choice Art Show. I previously worked around the corner from the Broad Street office where the show was held. I remember doing business there, over the years, and viewing the wonderful art on display. I never dreamed that I would be displaying my work at one of their shows. First Federal works with the Charleston Artist Guild (CAG) to put on these shows. In order to be considered for the People's Choice one must be an Exhibiting Member of the CAG. I joined the CAG in October was not juried in as an exhibiting member of the CAG in time for this event. You can be assured that I will be ready with my submissions this fall.
If you are an artist whether it is a painter, photographer, sculptor, jewelery maker, etc. you should consider joining the Charleston Artist Guild. For more information about the benefits of Guild membership visit their website at www.charlestonartistguild.com.
