Targeted by food companies
Local photographer, Michael Kaynard, will work for cinnamon buns.

When I was deciding what I wanted to blog about today, I noticed the ad for Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon buns at the top of my screen. Did you know they were new? They must be because there is a bright yellow banner on the corner that says, "New!". I have the tv on mute but just glanced up and, of course, there is a Red Lobster ad showing a HUGE (pronounced UGE by Donald Trump) piece of lobster dripping with butter.
I am over-weight and I feel targeted by these ads. I wonder if my pulse actually quickens when I view them?
Fighting my weight has become harder and harder now that I am working as a self-employed photographer. If I stay around the house too long I am going to feel the call of the cookies. Of course, when I am out and about, its too easy to stop and pick up a little soimething. At first I gave in to the urge. I justified my actions by thinking, "its okay, its from Earth Fare. How bad can it be for me?"

Well, it is getting to be a problem and I can't blame anyone except the food companies. I don't know why they are picking on me? They make everything look so good and you hardly ever see gravitationally-impaired people (my new word instead of fat) eating these foods. They are always 20 something and thin as a rail. I think the same company that sells those delicious looking cinnamon buns is also a division of the diet company, Nutra...something which in turn is owned by hospitals and pharaceutical companies.
First, they get you hooked on their cinnamon buns. Then they bombard you with ads about losing weight. If you don't lose weight they offer to do a surgical procedure to staple your stomach. If that doesn't work, its a good bet that you will need to be on medication for hypertension, high cholesterol and Type II diabetes.

What the heck did I ever do to them? It's not fair. I really like cinnamon buns. My wife thinks I am being paranoid. I told her I was not. I do, however, vaguely remember (in my dreams) being chased around the house by a large "alka-seltzer-like" tablet with a funny hat and skinny legs. I think he was carrying a large cinnamon bun in one hand.
