Health & Fitness

Thank you Sal and Andrea

mARTch Madness at Village Bakery is a huge success.

Thursday before 5 pm, two other artists and I were at Village Bakery, Pitt Street, Mt. Pleasant setting up for the first art show held there.  We were there at the invitation of Sal and Andrea Parco who through Dine With Sal own and run nine (9) food establishments.  I was a fan of Mustard Seed for years before they expanded the original restaurant.  Boulevard Diner has been my "grouper sandwich" stop.  I used to go with the idea of trying something different ending up with my favorite grouper.  Now I am getting hooked on the muffins at Village Bakery.

Well, the crowd started coming at 5 pm and kept coming and coming.  The tempo kept up and before we knew it 7 pm had rolled around.  People were interested in the art and the artists and seemed to have a really good time.  Sales were brisk and I, for one, would be glad to do it again and again.

This was a high energy show with me, a photographer, John Alsbrecht, the painter and 16 year old art student, John Knowlton's amazing drawings.  The attendees were friends, associates, other artists and people from all over the Charleston area.  My gator shot was a top seller.

The night was a big success but the highlight for me was the gift of a wonderful muffin to take home to share with my wife.  Sal and Andrea, you have hit a homerun with this show.  Thanks for inviting me to be a part of it.  As I always say, "its all good" (especially the muffins).
