Carolina Bay in West Ashley

Deeply rooted in the past and at the precipice to the futures, Carolina Bay is the newest addition to West Ashley community.

Officially known as West of the Ashley, the community of West Ashley is considered the birthplace of Charleston. One of six individual regions that make up Charleston, it takes its name from its location just west of the Ashley River. Deeply immersed in the history of South Carolina, it was established in 1690 when friendly indigenous native Americans, the Kiawah, guided colonists to the area. The community became the original Charleston settlement called Charles Towne Landing.

With a population of a little over 300 people, West Ashley’s newest neighborhood, Carolina Bay is still growing and offers beautiful pre-construction and existing traditional style homes in an assortment of floor plans.

Incredible amenities delight residents of this master planned community. A large zero-entry pool is just one of several pools to choose from. There are play parks for the children and a dog park especially for our four-legged family members. The covered pavilion with its fireplace is the perfect place for an afternoon cookout with friends and family. Nature trails are an ideal way to get outside and explore the neighborhood. It’s less than 8 miles to amazing downtown Charleston and 3 ½ miles to I-526 which makes everything just an easy drive away, including Mt. Pleasant and North Charleston. Beachcombers are only a half-hour from Folly Beach. For history buffs, the ghosts of the past are all around, from the buildings in downtown Charleston to the State Historic Site, Charles Town Landing on Ashley River Road.
