Here are the top stories in Charleston today:
- The Charleston County School District announced yesterday that it will partner with local medical organizations to provide COVID-19 vaccines for students ages 5 to 11. Up to 10 afterschool clinics are planning to provide both doses of the vaccine. Students will need signed consent from a parent or guardian to receive the shot. (WCBD News 2)
- Lowcountry Local First is encouraging holiday shoppers to keep their purchases local this year. Lowcountry Local First's Buy Local Season campaign launched Nov. 1 and will run through the end of 2021. The organization's annual buy local effort aims to emphasize the benefits of shopping at local businesses and encourage the community to support independent retailers. (Charleston City Paper)
- A school bus driver has been disciplined after driving through a flooded street in downtown Charleston. No students were on board at the time. (ABC NEWS 4)
- A man has been arrested following an early-morning police chase in North Charleston that reached speeds above 110 mph. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Several roads were closed yesterday in downtown Charleston due to Tidal flooding. (WCBD News 2)
