Here are the top stories in Charleston today:

1. Archeologists and historical interpreters are now giving public tours of Charles Towne Landing, a town lot from 1671 that was recently uncovered just off the Ashley River. The town was the first English settlement in South Carolina and exhibits at the site show how some of the earliest European settlers to the state lived. The first tour was held on Saturday and more are planned for the future. (WLTX.com)
2. The Lowcountry Music Hall of Fame held its annual event on Sunday at the Hanahan Amphitheater. The event highlighted the latest talent that has contributed to Charleston's local music scene over the years. 2021 Hall of Fame Inductees who performed this year include Aycock, The East Coast Party Band, The Malibus, and The Rev. 3. Deputy Potts of the Charleston County Sheriff's Office and an Army Reserve went above and beyond the call of duty when he drove a donated wheelchair out to James Island to give it to a veteran in need. (WCBD News 2)
