Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- The City of Charleston plans to expand the Charleston 9 Memorial Park. The park is on the site of the former Sofa Super Store - where the nine firefighters died battling the store's fire. The expansion plans to add a terrace and memorial panels near a flagpole. (WCBD News 2)
- Charleston's industrial warehouse space demand has continued despite market troubles. Rising interest rates, supply chain issues, and slowing retail sales have reportedly not affected the city's demand for increased industrial warehouse space. Developers are reportedly still weighing market issues as they invest in new buildings. (Charleston Post Courier)
- The North Charleston Police Department has arrested one man in connection to a shooting that occurred at a motel on Saturday night. Darnell Dwayne Brown, 34, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. One victim was taken to a local hospital with a gunshot wound and is in an unknown condition. (Live 5 News WCSC)
