Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. The 2022 Charleston Black Expo on Saturday saw hundreds of attendees. The event featured more than 180 booths dedicated to promoting Black-owned businesses and resources. The Expo also showcased a few seminars about diversity in clinical trials, parenting skills, and growing a business post-pandemic. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. Power has been restored for Charleston residents after strong winds caused outages on Saturday. According to outage maps by Electric Cooperatives and Dominion Energy, 5,000 customers experienced power outages. Don Holt and Wando Bridges were also closed due to the strong winds after multiple tractor-trailers overturned, according to the Charleston Police Department. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  3. Palmetto Kingfish Tour is returning to the Charleston area this summer after a two-year pandemic hiatus. The event features four king mackerel tournaments held throughout Charleston beginning on Jun. 18. Entries are capped at 40 boats with an entrance fee of $4,000 per boat. (Charleston Post Courier)
