🌱 Charleston Co. Buying Vacant Homes + Wreaths To Honor Veterans

Here are the top stories today in Charleston:
- Charleston County is buying 18 vacant homes from the local housing authority so they can remain affordable to low-income families instead of being auctioned to the highest bidder. The county will buy the homes at an average of $137,200 per house and will use federal money to repair them. (U.S. News)
- American Legion Post 179, located in Charleston, S.C, says they laid out 378 wreaths on Saturday to honor Veterans. The placing of the wreaths is part of National Wreaths Across America Day, which coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 2,500 additional locations. - 17 therapy pups with the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) spread some holiday cheer this past Friday! The adorable dogs took part in a holiday puppy parade, moving in and out of MUSC's buildings, surprising patients and staff alike. (ABC News 4)
