Charleston Couple Dedicated to Making a Difference Celebrates One-Year Anniversary as Business Owners
BrightStar Care Continues to Answer Call for a Higher Standard of In-Home Care for Charleston Residents

CHARLESTON, S.C. – For the past year, local entrepreneurs Kristin and Charles James have been fulfilling their dream of making a difference in the lives of Charleston residents by operating a BrightStar Care in-home care agency. Kristin and Charles took over operation of BrightStar Care of Charleston from a previous owner in June 2014, and have continued BrightStar Care’s tradition of providing a range of compassionate, person-centered medical and non-medical care to people of all ages, from infants to seniors.
The husband and wife team’s investment in the in-home care company came after successful careers in hospitality and commercial real estate. After searching for a new career path and seeing a desperate need in the industry for quality care, Kristin and Charles made the decision to take over ownership of BrightStar Care in order to provide the type of care that they would want their loves ones to experience. The James’ bought the Charleston office from a former owner and now thanks to Kristin and Charles, Charleston and the surrounding areas continue to have a premier option of quality care for the rapidly growing senior population.
“As long-time residents of Charleston, we feel extremely blessed to be able to give back to the community in a way that is truly impactful—by providing in-home care services to those that need it most,” said Kristin James, co-owner of BrightStar Care of Charleston. “With our incredible staff of caregivers, CNA’s and Director of Nursing Cori Duguay, we are confident that we are providing the highest quality care to our clients and give peace of mind to families in need of specialized care.”
