Shortly after 5 a.m. Wednesday a man with a gun robbed the Sunoco at 1880 Ashley River Road as an employee was opening up for the day. Charleston Police Department Public Information Officer Charles Francis said the department is investigating, but it is not clear if this robbery is connected to any others in the West Ashley area. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie and black pants at the time, Francis added. He stole $3,000 from the store, according to the CPD report on the incident.
