First, today's weather:

Humid with a stray t-storm. High: 86 Low: 76.


Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. Charleston County's Consolidated Dispatch Center has been reaccredited by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials. The center is one of 32 agencies in the United States that earned accreditation this year. The Director of the CDC, Jim Lake, reports that the achievement demonstrates the staff's "dedication to creating and maintaining a training program for our department that exceeds 911 industry standards."   2. Heavy rains on Monday have prompted several roads to be closed in downtown Charleston and West Ashley. The county was under a moderate flood advisory through Monday afternoon.   3. Charleston County Park's Holiday Festival of Lights is scheduled to begin on Nov. 11, but runners and walkers will get a sneak peek. The festival's Run and Walk event is scheduled for Nov. 9 and Nov. 10. Tickets for the festival's Run and Walk are currently on sale. Participants will get to view the lights while walking or running around the loop. (WCBD News 2)
