Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- The Charleston County Coroner has been named by the South Carolina Coroner's Association as the 2022 Coroner of the Year. Bobbi Jo O'Neal was given the award at this year's conference in North Myrtle Beach. She was also chosen to lead the association as president by her peers during the conference. (ABC NEWS 4)
- U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has hired Charleston lawyers to challenge Fulton County's subpoena. Nelson Mullins attorneys Matt Austin and Bart Daniel stated that Graham is not a target or a subject in the investigation but is simply a witness. Senator Graham, the former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, could be found guilty of contempt if he fails to honor the subpoena. (Charleston Post Courier)
- A North Charleston man died during a Tuesday night crash. Joseph Jones Jr. died near the 7800 block of Northside Drive, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. The North Charleston Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the incident. (Live 5 News WCSC)
