Here are the top stories today in Charleston:
- While smash-and-grabs out west have some worried about businesses in Charleston, officials with the Charleston Police Department have said that large levels of organized crime are not happening here. The CPD is also taking a proactive approach to stopping crime before it happens in areas with heavy foot traffic, such as King Street. (ABC NEWS 4)
- North Charleston City employees who were not at least partially vaccinated by Friday, Dec. 3 will soon face termination. On Friday morning, multiple employees stopped by City Hall to return their gear and say goodbye to former coworkers. A letter submitted by employees shows that affected individuals will be placed on a one-week unpaid leave of absence, during which they still have the option to get vaccinated and maintain their jobs. If not, their employment will come to an end. (WCBD News 2)
