  1. North Charleston police are currently investigating a deadly shooting on Dorchester Road. When officers arrived at the scene early Saturday morning, they located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, 34-year-old Bobby Warthaw, was pronounced dead after lifesaving measures were attempted. No arrests have been made at this time, and an investigation is underway. (WCBD News 2)
  2. Since its founding in 2001, Charleston's own Taylor Festival Choir has been recorded by its share of commercial labels and even considered for a Grammy in multiple categories. In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., the choir will be performing its "Reaching for the Light" show on Jan. 16 at the Second Presbyterian Church downtown. Tickets for the concert can be purchased online. (Charleston City Paper)
  3. A 15-year-old suffered a non-life-threatening injury in a shooting at the Palmilla Parkside Apartments. Charleston police officers were also investigating an outside fire reported in the same complex at approximately the same time as the shooting. The investigation is ongoing; anyone with information is asked to contact the on-duty central detective or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry. (Live 5 News WCSC)
