First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 92 Low: 76.
Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- The Coastal Community Foundation has launched its new Equity Speaker Series. Barbara Whye will kick off the inaugural series. She is the Vice President of Inclusion and Diversity for tech giant Apple. The series will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Harbour Club. There will be an option for virtual attendance. - MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital has added two new ambulances. The vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art life-saving technology and are certified by the Department of Health and Environmental Control. They will be unveiled today during a ceremony scheduled for 9:30 a.m. (WCBD News 2)
- A vehicle crashed into an office building near Savannah Highway last week. According to the Charleston Fire Department, an SUV ran off the highway on Thursday. The building's corner was heavily damaged but thankfully no injuries were reported. Shoring has been installed to reduce further damage to the building. (WCBD News 2)
