Hear the fife and drums and smell the gun powder as reenactors celebrate Independence Weekend at the home of Arthur Middleton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. The American Revolution period comes to life with the Second South Carolina Regiment encampment in the Plantation Stableyards. Walk through an 18th century military camp and see how the troops lived, including cooking and musket firing demonstrations. At 1:00 p.m. on both days, hear formal readings of the Declaration of Independence.
