Fighting Obamacare -- Bad Business All Around

The Town Hall meeting that was held in Charleston on Wednesday was yet more proof that the majority of Americans want Obamacare, and want the obstructionists to cease and desist.  Businesses as well as individuals understand that insuring more of us is not just good for people, it is good for business.

As with voter ID, Governor Haley and others are willing to waste vast amounts of taxpayer dollars to fight established laws.  I imagine the unspoken rationale is a fear that the Affordable Care Act, if allowed to proceed, will be a success.

Meanwhile, those who claim that they are "pro-life" are willing to sacrifice those who are unable to afford health insurance by refusing to accept the federally funded Medicaid expansion.  And those left out will be forced to wait past initial symptoms to end up in emergency rooms, a cost in lives as well as dollars.

Let's insist that Governor Haley and our lawmakers act like grown-ups and do what is right for South Carolina.
