Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. The Charleston Animal Society has issued a heat-stress alert. The organization is urging pet owners to keep animals indoors during the heatwave that is impacting the area. The heat-stress index was developed by the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture. Charleston will reach "danger" and "emergency" levels this week. (ABC NEWS 4)
  2. The City of Charleston is offering a series of financial literacy workshops this summer to engage our community's youngest members.   3. The Charleston Police Department is searching for a missing boater. The department was notified of a missing elderly man that was pulled from a boat by a strong current.
