Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. The Lowcountry Food Bank will be distributing food tomorrow, Sep. 1, in North Charleston. The distribution will be at Macedonia Church of Our Lord Jesus Chris on Old Hertz Road. Participants can start picking up food at 4:00 p.m. The distribution is meant to provide assistance to families in need. (WCBD News 2)
  2. Fishing Booker has included Charleston on its list of top fishing locations for Labor Day Weekend. The list recognized Charleston's outstanding saltwater fishing and plentiful fishing spots. Recommended fish are Tarpon, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Flounder. According to Fishing Booker, Charleston's surf fishing is "top-notch." (Holy City Sinner)
  3. The Charleston Fire Department responded to a fire at a downtown gas station on Monday. The incident occurred at the Meeting Street Exxon station and involved a burning vehicle. The department was able to contain the fire and minimized damage to the station's canopy, a fuel pump, and the vehicle. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. (Live 5 News WCSC)
