FrontDoor Communities is excited to announce it has acquired land and assets at Mixson, a North Charleston neighborhood of the popular Park Circle area. The purchase includes single-family and townhome lots, the Mixson Bath & Racquet Club, Mixson Market, Básico restaurant and land for future development.
“We are thrilled to be the new owners and stewards of Mixson,” said Terry Russell, CEO of FrontDoor Communities. “We expect North Charleston to continue its growth trajectory and we are delighted to be located near Park Circle. Our residents will enjoy being part of a wonderful community with great parks, restaurants and shops to go along with easy accessibility to the airport.”
FrontDoor intends to refresh the community by building new homes and improving the club, market and restaurant features. Current plans include a mix of single-family homes and townhomes designed with classic Carolina Lowcountry and urban styles to blend in with Mixson’s “true town” character. FrontDoor’s 171 homes at Mixson will range from 1,500 to 3,100 square feet of living space and be priced from the high $200,000s to $400,000s.

In addition to FrontDoor Communities’ well-constructed homes and fantastic community development, Eastwood Homes will be contributing to homebuilding responsibilities. Eastwood will construct 80 townhomes ranging from 1,400 to 2,800 square feet of living space with prices ranging from the mid-$200,000s to $300,000s.
FrontDoor and Eastwood will offer pre-sale homes and plan to open decorated model homes this summer. Future Mixson residents will join current residents in a community characterized by its public spaces, parks, trails, open-air pavilion, community market and membership at the Mixson Bath & Racquet Club with the purchase of a home.

“Mixson’s amazing amenities were a big draw for FrontDoor,” said Russell. “Our residents will benefit from amenities that make it easy to connect to one another and the communities around them. Having Park Circle in our back yard is a huge bonus, and it gives our residents enviable proximity to downtown Charleston, the airport and job centers.”
