  1. The Charleston County Greenbelt Program is opening project applications for its FY22 Winter Funding Cycle beginning today. This funding cycle includes $17.5 million for both urban and rural projects that "protect and promote quality of life through the protection and preservation of land in Charleston County." Eligible Greenbelt fund recipients have until Friday, January 28, 2022, to submit their application. (holycitysinner.com)
  2. Charleston's arts and culture scene is alive and well with multiple events coming up this week. Up first is "Reflections on Contemporary Art and Faith: An inspiring, poetic and discursive evening," happening tonight at 6 p.m. at College of Charleston's Wells Fargo Auditorium. The event will include curatorial presentations, a lecture performance, and a group conversation. (Charleston Scene)
  3. The identities of the victims killed in a North Charleston Amtrak train collision this weekend have been released. Taisia Newton, 22, Danielle Branton, 29, and Reshana Lambright, 32, were pronounced dead on the scene of Remount Road after first responders were dispatched to the railroad crossing.   4. The victim of the fatal Friday shooting at the Piggly Wiggly on Rivers Ave. has been identified as 19-year-old Coleman "CJ" Brown. (ABC NEWS 4)
