- The Charleston Police Department is hosting its second annual "Halloween Howl" today. It's similar to the "Trunk or Treat" program and kids have the chance to safely enjoy Halloween festivities while checking out decked-out police car displays! Other activities will include door prizes, live music, and more.The event is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at CPD Headquarters, located at 180 Lockwood Boulevard. (ABC NEWS 4)
- Three Charleston-area nonprofits received a $711,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to support and create jobs through the Minority Business Development Initiative. The Minority Business Development Initiative will be operated from The Opportunity Center, the new shared office space in North Charleston. The grant will give minority business owners the ability to access the resources necessary to start a small business while building an entrepreneurial ecosystem for communities of color in the Charleston area.(holycitysinner.com)
- A Wando man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for a 2018 bank robbery in Charleston. (Abccolumbia.com)
- The FBI, local, and state agencies conducted a multi-day operation of medical training exercises in Charleston earlier this week. (WCBD News 2)
- The City of North Charleston is celebrating the fall season with its 8th annual Harvest Festival scheduled for this Saturday, Oct. 23 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m on East Montague Avenue between Virginia Avenue and Jenkins Avenue. (ABC News 4)
