Tip on Replacing Missing Rhinestones
The first thing, of course, is to locate rhinestones that match in size and color. Once you have the stones you need, glueing them in without getting glue all over everything including the top of the rhinestone is easy. Make sure the rhinestone fits and matches by trying it in the vacant hole in the piece of jewelry. When you are sure you have a match, turn the rhinestone upside-down on it's face on a hard surface. Using a toothpick, place a tiny bit of glue into the empty hole. Position the piece over the upside down rhinestone and gently lower it to catch the stone in the glue in the hole. Once you are sure you have caught the rhinestone in the glue in the vacant hole turn the piece over and, if need be, apply gentle pressure. You should not have used enough glue so as to have any push out.Rhinestones are fun to wear with a variety of styles, either dressing up or dressing down. This picture is of a very old brooch placed on a jacket I bought at Chicos a few seasons ago. It blends in wonderfully. The spots on the jacket downplay the glitz of the brooch but OOPS, I see a stone or two missing. I had better glue some into place!
