Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- The South Carolina Aquarium is hosting JuLionfish Derby all month to cull the invasive fish population. The venomous species has infested South Carolina reefs. Almost 20 divers signed up to participate in the month-long event that challenges individuals to hunt lionfish. A festival is planned at the Charleston aquarium on Jul. 29 to celebrate the finale of the derby. (Charleston Post Courier)
- The Charleston Police Department is searching for a missing 13-year-old girl. Kayli Keitt went missing in the Hagood Avenue and Spring Street area on Thursday. Anyone with information on the missing teen is asked to contact the department immediately. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- An international drug manufacturer is establishing a new site in Charleston County. SHL Medical is based in Switzerland and specializes in manufacturing drug delivery devices. The manufacturer's products are used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The company is investing $90 million in the county and creating 165 jobs. The facility will be at 7791 Palmetto Commerce Parkway in North Charleston. (Live 5 News)
