- A new barbecue pop-up in Charleston wants to give residents a knuckle sandwich. Hector Garate and Graham Calabria are serving sandwiches made using the meat from a pig's shoulder and trotters, which are its feet. - A Charleston middle schooler has been arrested for choking a fellow classmate. The Deer Park Middle School student was arrested after a video emerged of the incident happening on Monday. The victim passed out and hit his head on the corner of a desk, falling unconscious for at least a minute. The student has been charged with second-degree assault and battery. (WBTW)
- City leaders are paying tribute to Robert Smalls, a Civil War hero. He was an enslaved harbor pilot who commandeered a Confederate ship in 1862, freeing himself, his crew, and their families. Smalls served in the South Carolina Legislature and the United States House of Representatives after the war. (WTMA)

- The Charleston Animal Society is offering a reward for information leading to an arrest in the case of a dog and cat being shot in North Charleston. The dog was shot in the 5200 block of Rivers Avenue and the cat was shot in the 7400 block of Tedder Street. (Facebook)
