🌱 Library Hours Expanded + Baby Formula Shortage Continues

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Charleston.

(Patch Media)

Good morning, everybody! It's me, Nicole Fallon-Peek, your host of the Charleston Daily. Let's get this Tuesday started off right, with a quick dive into everything you need to know about what's happening these days in town...

First, today's weather:

A stray afternoon t-storm. High: 81 Low: 74.

Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. Charleston County libraries will be expanding operating hours at two libraries. The Edisto Island Library will now be open until 4:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday while operating until 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The McClellanville Library will now operate until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  2. Charleston residents continue to struggle to find baby formula. The biggest supply issue is with specialized infant formulas. These special formulas are needed for infants with allergies such as milk protein intolerance. Parents are being advised to consult their pediatricians and to not create homemade formula alternatives. (Live 5 News WCSC)
  3. The Charleston Animal Society had some success during Sunday's foster fair. The shelter was able to find foster homes for about a dozen animals during the event. The shelter is currently over-capacity and has been asking for the public's help in fostering/adopting. (WTMA)
