Local Fundraiser to Support Our Hooters in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Hooters of N. Charleston hosts Halloween-themed "Pink Carnival" event to raise money for breast cancer research
What: Hooters is calling on the Charleston community for support in the fight against breast cancer by joining a local fundraising event as part of its monthlong #SupportOurHooters fundraising campaign to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research through The V Foundation for Cancer Research.
The Hooters of N. Charleston will host a Halloween-themed “Pink Carnival” event on Saturday, Nov. 1 to conclude its monthlong fundraising effort. Event festivities will include carnival games, a dunk tank and multiple raffle prize giveaways.
All funds raised will benefit breast cancer research through The V Foundation for Cancer Research. With 17,000 Hooters Girls around the globe and a workforce made up of 70 percent women, no other dining destination is as uniquely qualified to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research!
When: Saturday, Nov. 1 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Who: 2014 Hooters International Swimsuit Pageant second runner up, Meagan Pastorchik, will be available for interview.
Why: Hooters established the Kelly Jo Dowd Breast Cancer Research Fund in honor of one of the original Hooters Girls who valiantly battled breast cancer for five years before succumbing on May 24, 2007. Hooters Girls have raised more than $2 million to support breast cancer research, much of it in Kelly Jo’s name to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, one of the nation’s leading cancer research funding organizations. These grants honor Kelly Jo and further her mission to educate all women, especially her extended family consisting of some 300,000 current and former Hooters Girls, about the importance of early detection and prevention.
