Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:
- A Charleston Lyft driver reported he was assaulted by one of his riders this past weekend. The incident began when the Lyft driver asked his two passengers to wear masks, in accordance with Lyft policies. The rider has been booked by the Charleston Police Department on misdemeanor assault charges. (ABC NEWS 4)
- Two people were injured in a Wednesday North Charleston housefire. Crews responded to the fire on Rhett Park Drive where a two-story home had fire billowing from the second floor. Two adults and six children were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross while investigators work to determine the cause of the fire. (Live 5 News WCSC)
- Alan Baker, 28, has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon in connection to a Charleston stabbing. The incident occurred on Sam Rittenberg Boulevard on Feb. 4, according to the police department. The stabbing victim was taken to a local hospital with no update on her current condition.
