Marley Lion Timeline: From Shooting to Arrests

Breaking down the investigation into 17-year-old's death.

On Tuesday, the Charleston Police Department announced the arrest of three men in the shooting death of Marley Lion, 17. A fourth was charged with accessory after the fact. Here's a timeline of the investigation:

June 16 - Just after 4 a.m., officers respond to a call, . He said that he had stopped in the parking lot to sleep. He dies from his wounds later at the hospital.

June 19 - at a press conference, and provides surveillance footage of the shooting. Mayor Joe Riley pleads with members of the community to come forward if they have any information related to the case.

July 3 - Riley and Lion's mother address the media, announcing a leading to arrests in the case.

July 15 - Working from a tip, police are able to purchase the weapon suspected of being used in the crime. Surveillance begins on the suspect involved in the exchange.

July 29 - 2 p.m. - With confirmation from SLED that the weapon was used in the crime, 24-hour surveillance begins on the suspects.

July 29 - 4 p.m. - Hundreds of friends and family celebrate Lion's life with .

July 30 - 9:30 a.m. - Ryan Deleston is taken into custody as he exits a CARTA bus on Market Street in downtown Charleston. Soon after, in the Ardmore community.

July 31 -  against Deleston, Bryan Latrell Rivers and Julius Terrell Brown.
