1. The City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department is seeking entries from African American textile artists across the nation for a special exhibition in the 2022 North Charleston Arts Fest. African American fiber artists, ages 18 and up, are invited to participate in the 15th Annual African American Fiber Art Exhibition, titled From Chaos to Beloved Community: Envisioning Social Justice. The exhibition will take place May 4-8 in North Charleston. (holycitysinner.com)
2. Head to the Purple Buffalo this Friday to enjoy a lineup of five local bands comprised of indie rock groups: Aldente, Gardenia Collective, Cloudsoup, Steel Toed Jorts, and Midwest Casual. Pay what you can to enter! 100% of the door profits will be donated to the Lowcountry Food Bank. (Charleston City Paper)
3. Employees at Bernie's Tires on Rivers Avenue were allegedly beaten with a hammer and pipe during an assault Tuesday afternoon. Three people reportedly started arguing with employees over the "distribution of air" in the tires on their vehicle. (WCBD News 2)
4. Alexis Grant of North Charleston pled guilty to a charge of homicide by child abuse of her 1-year-old son in a 2017 incident. She has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. (Live 5 News WCSC)
