Here are the top stories in Charleston today:

  1. Five local residents have been displaced after a Sunday afternoon house fire in North Charleston. The fire occurred at a single-story home on Blue Ridge Trail in the Archdale Landing community. All residents were evacuated and relocated to a neighbor's home, and medical care was provided to one resident until EMS arrived. The Red Cross is currently assisting the displaced residents.   2. The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) has launched a new North Charleston-West Ashley shuttle service. CARTA will now provide free transportation between bus stops on either side of the North Bridge/Cosgrove Avenue. Officials say they hope the service will improve public safety following several accidents where walkers or cyclists were hit by cars on the bridge. (Live 5 News)
  3. Argents Air Express, Ltd., a full-service logistics solution company, announced a $400,000 expansion of its North Charleston facility, which will bring dozens of new jobs to Charleston County. (ABC 4 News)
  4. On Saturday, Reverend Ruth Morse Woodliff-Stanley became the 15th bishop and the first woman to lead the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina. (WPDE ABC 15)
  5. Descendants of enslaved people are shifting plantation tourism by hosting "descendant reunions" like the one that takes place at Middleton Place in Charleston, which gathers both Black and white descendants for a weekend of on-site research presentations, history lectures, and informal dialogues.
