Here are the top three stories in Charleston today:

  1. The North Charleston Police Department held hiring events over the weekend. The events served as a "one-stop shop" for potential department recruits. The department is currently trying to fill 26 open positions. The department is still collecting applications at this link. (ABC NEWS 4)
  2. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office hosted its eighth annual Cops and Kids Back 2 School Bash on Saturday. Participants were given school supplies and free food. The purpose of the event is for the department to build connections within the community while providing resources for the 2022-2023 school year. (WCBD News 2)
  3. The Charleston Police Department is currently searching for a missing West Ashley resident. 55-year-old James Johnson went missing from his residence on Friday around 5:00 p.m. He was driving a blue 2010 Toyota Tacoma with SNJ305 license plates. Anyone with information about Johnson's whereabouts is asked to contact the department. (ABC NEWS 4)
