Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:

  1. Charleston's The Refinery has opened its outdoor amphitheater. The stage is now opened permanently and has performances lined up through the rest of 2022. The amphitheater can reportedly accommodate up to 1,500 individuals. Ear for Music is booking the amphitheater's performances. (Charleston Post Courier)
  2. Pro-abortion advocates joined together for a watch party at Charleston's Commonhouse Aleworks to watch the state Senate Medical Affairs Subcommittee livestream on Wednesday. The Women's Rights and Empowerment Network distributed information to those in attendance along with ways to get involved. The South Carolina legislature is moving forward with a bill that would ban abortions in the state. (Holy City Sinner)
  3. Charleston County Parks' Latin American Festival is scheduled to return on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Wannamaker County Park. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy authentic music, art, food, and various activities. Tickets are $10 with a 50 percent discount for students and military members.
