Car shot on Savannah Hwy.
CHARLESTON - A family traveling down Savannah Hwy. flagged down a Charleston Police officer around 10:30 p.m. July 4, after what they thought was a rock broke the vehicle's windshield as they passed Avondale Avenue.

Upon closer inspection the officer determined the damage actually was caused by a bullet. A 40-caliber round was recovered from inside the car. No injuries were reported, according to police.

CHARLESTON - Two men kicked in the door of a Parsonage Road resident's home around 10:50 p.m. July 5, fired a shot into the resident's kitchen cabinet and fled the scene, according to a Charleston Police report.
Pair robbed at West Ashley hotel
CHARLESTON - Two people were robbed at gunpoint at the Best Western on Savannah Hwy. around 11:30 p.m. July 7, according to a Charleston Police report.
Light bulb thief strikes West Ashley apartment
CHARLESTON - Residents of Ashley Hall Plantation Road reported the theft of $5 cash and two light bulbs from their apartment July 5.
The couple told police they locked their front door when they left earlier that evening, and the door was still locked when they returned but the cash, all in $1 bills, and light bulbs were gone. Officers found no sign of forced entry.
Officers checked with the apartment complex management and no employees were sent to the apartment during the time the couple was away, according to a Charleston Police report.
