Gun, games and gold grabbed in burglary
CHARLESTON - The resident of a Grech Street apartment reported her home had been broken into on the afternoon July 20, between 1:30-3:46 p.m., according to a Charleston Police report.

Her glass back door had been smashed and several items had been taken from the apartment including a Draco pistol grip .233 caliber AK-47 rifle, a Playstation 3, a Playstation 2, several video games, jewelry and $300 cash.

CHARLESTON - Victoria's Secret in Citadel Mall reported a pair of shoplifters made off with $1,056 worth of perfume around 4:30 p.m. on July 22.

CHARLESTON - A Charleston Police officer described an encounter with a suspect eventually charged with DUI:
"I activated the in-car video camera and asked (the suspect) if he was willing to take the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. (The suspect) consented, but stated that he has had surgery on his spine and would not be able to perform the walk and turn, and one-leg-stand test. (The suspect) did however, pose in the crane-kick pose from the original Karate Kid, and asked if I wanted him to do that."
