Strong-arm robbery
CHARLESTON - Shortly after 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, a man riding a bicycle on 2nd Drive in the West Ashley area asked a resident of the street for a cigarette and then robbed her, according to a Charleston Police Department report.
The resident had been outside feeding her cats when the man rode up. He grabbed her by the arm and punched her in the face demanding money, the report stated. The woman told officers she retrieved $60 from her home and gave it to him.
Car stolen from ER parking lot
CHARLESTON - Early on Friday June, 24 a city resident drove himself to the Roper St. Francis emergency room in West Ashley because he was feeling ill around 2 a.m.
According to a Charleston Police Department report he lost consciousness in the parking lot and was woken by someone tapping on his window. That person helped him inside and even wheeled him into the emergency room in a wheelchair. However at some point the erstwhile good Samaritan helped himself to the sick man's keys and wallet, according to the report. When the victim returned for his car later that day it was gone.
Several cars burglarized in West Ashley
CHARLESTON - At least 10 vehicles in the Village Green neighborhood were broken into before dawn on Thursday, June 30, 2011, according to a Charleston Police Department report. Some, but not all, of the vehicles had been left unlocked, the report stated.

Rogers Mitchell, on June 28, 2011, charged with possession of marijuana, a warrant from City of Charleston for driving under suspension - 3rd, a warrant from Colleton County for possession of cocaine, a warrant from Georgia on a probation violation and on a warrant from Charleston County on a family offense.

Serg Lajeunesse, 32, on June 29, 2011, charged with driving under suspension - habitual offender and failure to surrender a suspended driver's license.
