Police charge juvenile with two burglaries

15-year-old West Ashley resident implicated in burglaries on July 6 and 7

CHARLESTON - Police charged a 15-year-old resident of Grove Park Drive in Haddon Hall Apartments with burglary first degree, burglary second degree and possession of a controlled substance, according to a statement from the Charleston Police Department.

During the burglary reported on July 6, the suspect is alledged to have stolen a handgun and electroinc equipment from a home in the Grand Oaks subdivision.

In the burglary reported on July 7, the suspect is alledged to have taken two handguns, a rifle, a shotgun, cash and electronic equipment from another home also in the Grand Oaks Subdivision off Bees Ferry Road.

Police report some of the weapons have been recovered.

The suspect has been charged as a juvenile, according to police.
