  1. While major ports across the country are dealing with delays and shortages, the South Carolina Ports Authority is continuing to see record volume. Port leaders said their infrastructure is what enabled them to keep up with the volume and meet demand through the pandemic. On holiday shopping: the port said if there is something you really want, make sure you buy it early. (WACH.com)
  2. North Charleston is looking to purchase more than a dozen acres of undeveloped land near its new aquatic center, hoping to make the area more available for public recreational use. North Charleston's Finance Committee, which includes all City Council members, unanimously voted Oct. 21 to buy 13 acres of property near the intersection of Patriot Boulevard and Appian Way for $1.6 million.   3. The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on Monday the appointment of Charleston County Sheriff Kristin Graziano to the board of the First Responder Network Authority. (WCBD News 2)
  4. Charleston Beer Week is returning for its 8th annual citywide festival after a 2-year delay on Oct. 29 - Nov. 7. (Charleston Post Courier)
