Red Carpet Event for Board Game Created by SC Teacher

Over two and a half years of work culminate with release of crowd-sourced game at a Red Carpet event.

Mount Pleasant SC, September 18, 2014: Normally the red carpet is reserved for the Hollywood starlets, but on Thursday, September 18th, 7:00-9:00pm, the red carpet at Cinebarre in Mount Pleasant will be for board game fans---specifically fans and supporters of the board game Legends of Adventure. Legends of Adventure was designed by local Montessori teacher Zak Oberrath, and it raised over $8,000 toward its first run via the crowd-sourcing site Kickstarter. To thank the many backers for their generosity, there will be a red carpet event with food and nonalcoholic beverages. Backers can also pick up their signed copies of the game.

The cocktail dress event is meant to show gratitude to people who backed the project from its inception, including some local businesses. It is also an opportunity to celebrate the achievement of the designer, Zak Oberrath, and the artist, Michael Mattocks. There will be appetizers and a cash bar, as well as VIP badges for certain friends of the game. The designer and artist will both be on hand for the entire event. The event is open to the public and free.

Local Charleston and Mount Pleasant stores, such as Wonderworks, Magnifilous Toy Emporium, Hobbytown USA, and Barton’s Toys, have all ordered copies of Legends of Adventure for their stores. Additionally, toy stores and board game stores in North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania have ordered the game. It can also be found on Amazon.com.
