Here are the top three stories today in Charleston:
- HBO's "The Righteous Gemstones" has announced another casting call in Charleston. The production is searching for extras to film the show's next season. The extras will fill various roles on Thursday, Jul. 28. The roles are for "Porno Shop Shoppers" and "Youth Group Members." Click for more information. (ABC15News)
- The Charleston Police Department is currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday morning. The incident was on Johns Island around 7:50 a.m. on Brownswood Road. The crash resulted in the death of one individual and the closure of Brownswood Road for two hours. (WCBD News 2)
- The Pay It Forward nonprofit is reportedly here to stay. The program was set up in response to the COVID-19 pandemic by James Beard Award finalist Butcher & Bee. Pay It Forward helped feed more than 2,250 individuals with food from Charleston-based businesses and South Carolina farms. The nonprofit will now be focused on distributing grants.
