West Ashley man charged with animal cruelty granted continuance

No date set for hearing yet

FOLLY BEACH - The West Ashley man charged on Folly Beach with animal cruelty for allegedly hitting a seagull with a bat, was a no-show at Municipal Court this morning, but was granted a continuance of the case through his attorney's request, according Folly Beach Clerk of Court Nicole DeNeane.

Louis Hoppman, III, 32, was given a citation by Folly Beach Police for animal cruelty after a witness reported the incident on June 18.

Hoppman has requested a jury trial, but no date has been set yet.
