Here are the top stories today in Charleston:

1. The Charleston County Coroner identified the victim of a motor vehicle collision Monday as a 27-year-old from Charleston. Coroner Bobbi Jo O'Neal said Logan Torgerson died of blunt force injuries after a crash at the corner of Orleans Road and U.S. Highway 17 around 8 p.m. Monday. Torgerson died at the Medical University of South Carolina at 8:20 p.m. (ABC NEWS 4)
2. A Charleston City Councilwoman announced she will resign from her position. Marie Delcioppo released a statement sharing that she cannot continue to serve due to a recent health challenge. A special election for Delcioppo's seat will be held on Jan. 11 and the candidate filing period will run from Oct. 29 at noon until Nov. 8 at noon. (Live 5 News WCSC)
