Richland County to Hold Recycling Event Saturday

Richland County residents can recycle electronics, mattresses, tires and more during the Fifth Annual Richland Recycles Day on Saturday.

The county will accept recyclable items from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Clemson Sandhill Research and Education Center at 900 Clemson Rd. 

The event will also feature free food, carnival rides, games, prizes and live entertainment from Vocal Trash, a national recording group that uses recycled materials to put on a musical and theatrical performance.

The county is hosting the event as part of America Recycles Day, a nationally-recognized day dedicated to encouraging Americans to recycle and to buy recycled products. 

Residents can also schedule an appointment to recycle hazardous waste, such as cleaning chemicals, pesticides and other household chemicals. To schedule an appointment, call the Office of Solid Waste Management at 803-576-2446.

• auto tires only (up to four per household)

Scrap Metal
