Coker University president discusses free tuition initiative, other reduced programs (wbtw.com) — Darlington County families could see 100% Coker University tuition covered starting in 2027 through the new Pee Dee Promise, if income and GPA requirements are met. The initiative targets students from Darlington and nine other counties, using federal, state, and institutional aid to remove cost barriers and keep local graduates studying close to home with expanded undergraduate and graduate financial support.

School District celebrates record wave of Academic Excellence (newsandpress.net) — Students across Darlington County School District, including several from Darlington High School, earned perfect scores on state SC READY and End-of-Course exams, setting a new benchmark for local academic excellence. The school board also honored top-attendance schools and recognized Board Member Vickie Carrieri for her advocacy for adult learners, underscoring a district-wide focus on achievement and persistence.

Darlington County drug unit, DEA search Hartsville home (wpde.com) — Darlington County deputies and DEA agents searched a home on Blanding Drive near Hartsville, taking several people into custody in an ongoing investigation involving suspected drugs and weapons.
