First Citizens Donates Funds To Dillon County Council On Aging (dillonnews.org) — Dillon seniors who rely on the Dillon County Council On Aging for meals and activities will soon have safer, easier transportation thanks to a $27,300 donation from First Citizens Bank. The funds will help buy a new bus or van with improved accessibility, and local leaders say the vehicle will also be used to deliver food throughout the community.
2. Dillon County Theatre Announces 2026-2027 Season (dillonnews.org) — Dillon County residents can look forward to a full 2026-27 "Thursdays In The Theatre" season, plus special events at the Dillon County Theatre, Dillon High School auditorium, and the City of Dillon Wellness Center. From holiday shows and Black History Month programs to a Revolutionary War anniversary event, organizers are also inviting locals to become members or sponsors to keep the arts thriving here.
3. 'Break the Silence, Heal the Hurt' Awareness Event Set for Oct. 18th (dillonnews.org) — Residents near Dillon are invited to a "Break the Silence, Heal the Hurt" domestic violence and sexual assault awareness event on Sunday, Oct. 18, at True Evidence Ministries in Lake View. Led by a Dillon County Sheriff's Office victim advocate and Pee Dee Coalition staff, the program will feature survivor stories, support resources, and a strong message of standing with victims.
4. Dillon man charged in grandmother's Florence County killing denied bond (wbtw.com) — A 21-year-old man from Dillon has been denied bond on most charges tied to the fatal shooting of his grandmother in Florence County, with a separate bond hearing still required on the murder count. Authorities allege he forced his way into her Sharon Road home, killed her, and then used her Cash App account, with his next court appearance set for January.
