2011: Gators Win State Championship

Goose Creek High's stellar season ends with a big finish.

The end of the year also marks our 6-month anniversary at Goose Creek Patch. Over the next two weeks we'll be looking back at some of the big stories in our community since our launch. See more at Goose Creek Patch 2011.

It was a nearly flawless season for the Goose Creek Gators, losing only to Florida's University High School early in the season.

Nearly every game was summed up with an offense running up and down the field and a defense holding the line on the competition. But the state championship on Dec. 3 was a nail biter through the first three quarters .

“It’s an indescribable feeling,” said Goose Creek coach Chuck Reedy after the game. “We accomplished this together. I have a great group of assistant coaches who work very hard, and our players have worked very hard.
