Alligator Hunting Class Scheduled Saturday

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will be hosting an alligator hunting seminar at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Santee Cooper Auditorium at 1 Riverwood Drive in Moncks Corner.

The forum is for permitted hunting participants and others interested in alligator hunting, covering topics like alligator capture and handling, rules and equipment use. Vendors will also be on hand to demonstrate or sale their products.

Hundreds of Lowcountry residents receive permits each spring for the month-long hunt. The 2012 open season is Sept. 8 through Oct. 13.
