Alligator Hunting Seminar Saturday

Event advances month-long hunting season.

The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will be hosting an alligator hunting seminar at 10 a.m. this Saturday at the Santee Cooper Auditorium at 1 Riverwood Drive in Moncks Corner.

The forum is for permitted hunting participants and others interested in alligator hunting, covering topics like alligator capture and handling, rules and equipment use. Vendors will likely also be on hand to demonstrate or sale their products.

Permits were handed out this spring for the public alligator hunting season, which runs from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8. Three hundred permits were handed out in the Berkeley/Dorchester/Charleston region.
